Manchester United through to all-English Champions League final
30th April, 2008
Paul Scholes scored the only goal of the two semi-final legs to put Manchester United through to the Champions League final, which will definitely be an all-English affair.
They will play either Chelsea or Liverpool in the final, who play this evening. Chelsea have the slight upper hand with an away goal from the 1-1 draw at Anfield.
The game at Old Trafford was a tense affair, once United had taken the early lead after Scholes’ 14th minute thumping finish, the home side sat back and let Barcelona come at them. And just as in the first leg, the Spanish giants could not find a way through.
Chelsea are faouvrites to win the clash this evening, at about 5/4, the draw at 2/1, and the unthinkable Liverpool win at 5/2.
