Manchester United lose hope as more injuries develop!
8th December, 2009
Manchester United are suffering from one of the worst injury crisis since Sir Alex Ferguson joined the club 23-years ago and it looks as though the team are beginning to feel the strain from their injury-stricken squad, with concerns that they will struggle to put up a challenge for their Champions League game tonight which sees them face Wolfsburg at 7.45pm.
Wolfsburg look set to take the lead in tonight’s game and Sky Bet are offering a price of 9/2 that Wolfsburg concede in the first 10 minutes of the game and 100/30 that they manage to keep the pressure on Manchester United, finishing the game with a clean sheet.
Nemanja Vidic is the last of the team to be struck down by injury leaving Sir Alex Ferguson without 8 defenders! Sky Bet have revealed that due to the amount of money that they have had wagered on the German side they have been forced to slash their odds of winning and Wolfsburg are now 11/10 (from 6/4) to win the game.
Ferguson has revealed his views on the clubs current situation explaining, “The injuries in defence are becoming a bit of a headache to us. Carrick stepped in and did very, very well. I don’t know how we are going to get a back four together on Tuesday? I’m hoping Nemanja will be okay and I will probably play Michael Carrick with him in defence.”
Manchester United need a point to secure them the top spot, but it appears that at the moment the clubs main concern is to avoid further injuries and Ferguson may be happier to return from Germany with a healthy team rather than a win!
