Liverpool v Inter Milan: ITV 1 7:45pm
The first knockout round kicks off in fine style, with two of the most successful teams in European history, Liverpool and Inter, facing off for a place in the quarter-finals. The last few seasons have seen Inter take a stranglehold over the rest of Italian football, as the Nerazzurri have won back to back titles in the last two seasons, along with back to back Coppa Italia trophies in 04/05 and 05/06. This season has been no different, as Inter appear to be well on their way to a third straight championship, and are in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals. However, that same success hasn’t occurred in Europe, having not reached the Champions League final since ‘72. While Inter are dominant domestically, it’s the complete opposite for Liverpool, who have excelled in Europe the last few years, becoming the champions of Europe in 2005 and finishing runner-up to Milan in last season’s competition. With the likes of Luis Figo, Ibrahimovic and Veira, Inter will look to terrorise the Liverpool defence. And, as ever, Benitez will be relying on Gerrard and Torres to inspire the Reds to victory.
Liverpool are priced 13/8 by VC Bet, whilst most bookies give inter a 7/4 shot to win away. The draw is generally available at 2/1.
BGBet are offering to refund all losing first goalscorer bets on Liverpool v Inter if Steven Gerrard scores at anytime in this match. There will be many more specials announced throughout the day from our Gaming Alerts software.
