Live Odds to be broadcast on Channel 4
26th November, 2008
Terrestrial broadcaster Channel 4 today announced plans to launch one-minute live advertisements to update viewers on the most recent odds before the start of major horse races.
The Channel 4 broadcaster airs its racing programme most Saturdays, and is supposedly in talks with a number of gambling operators and online betting agencies about who will be providing the live odds before each of the races.
Mike Parker, Head of Strategic Sales for Channel 4, told publication Media Week, “The interest level has been high as this, a sector where clients are looking for big points of differentiation and to promote their service as the best provider of live odds.”
These plans would be a first for Channel 4 with the debut planned for early next year. The broadcaster is currently looking for a partner for a six to twelve month period. For these proposed betting advertisements Channel 4 will be taking the time coming out of existing ad breaks.
