Latest news and betting odds for Liverpool vs. Reading

It is common knowledge that Rafael Benitez is determined to make up for what has been a hard season for Liverpool and it seems that the only way to do this is to walk away having won the FA Cup.
In addition to their football performance in the run up to Christmas, there have also been concerns off the pitch with regards to Tom Hicks JR who resigned earlier this week and ongoing financial troubles that look as though they are beginning to take their toll on the teams moral.
Manager Benitez explained, “The FA Cup is a very good option for us to win something this year. So we have to approach the game thinking about winning.” It appears that taking the current factors into consideration, Liverpool have been forced to change their strategy to ensure that they can be in with a chance of winning!
Benitez went on to say, “We know the FA Cup is a massive competition so we want to progress and go forward as much as we can. Our priority now is one game at a time so the one is the most important.”
Benitez stressed his attitude towards the FA Cup saying, “In the Premier League you have to win and if you can’t you say ‘unlucky’. But in the FA Cup you just have to win.”
It looks as though Liverpool may plan to spend big in the summer transfer window to ensure that they can get the players they need to take them to the top. Online bookies Sky Bet are offering odds on what will be the highest transfer fee Liverpool pay in the summer with odds such as 5/6 that their most expensive signing will be less than £20.5 million and odds of 5/6 that it is higher than £20.5 million.
A spokesman from Sky Bet explained, “The Liverpool owners have already said that any money raised during the January transfer window would be saved for the summer. They paid £25 million for Torres in 2007 and if they aren’t going to invest during January then the fans will be expecting another big signing come the summer transfer window.”
Tonight sees Liverpool take on Reading in their FA Cup third-round replay and Sky Bet are pricing Liverpool at 1/6 favourites to win the match, with reading backed at 14/1. If you fancy wagering on a draw then you can get a great price of 14/1.
