Joe Calzaghe is one of the all time boxing greats and is nearing the end of his illustrious career. Rated as one of the top 10 pound for pound boxer of all time, he has held the WBO super middleweight title for over ten years. Few can match this impressive record and none have ended it.

However this Saturday Roy Jones will attempt to take the belt form the Welshman at Mansion Square Gardens New York. Calzaghe claimed Jones was 'past it' a few years ago after the American former world champion had lost three fights in row. However his comeback has been well documented.

In 2007 he signed a contact to defend his title against the contender star Peter Manfredo in Cardiff. He beat Manfredo in three rounds.

Calzaghe in 2008 decided to move down to the Light Heavy weight class. On April 19, 2008, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, Calzaghe defeated Bernard Hopkins and won The Ring light heavyweight championship by split decision.

The fight on Saturday will be for the Light Heavyweight Ring magazine championship and has been called the 'Super fight' by boxing fans. Roy Jones Jr has had an incredible career having won held the WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO, NABF, WBF, and IBA light heavyweight championships at the same time.
