Heineken Cup Rugby Online Betting Odds
9th April, 2009
European Rugby returns this weekend with the quarter finals of the Heineken Cup and Challenge Cup.
Four English teams made it through to the quarter finals, and all will be fighting to be crowned champions. Only three however can make it through to the Semi’s, with a home nation clash between Leicester Tigers and Bath.
Saturday will also see Cardiff Blues take on Toulouse. The former French champions will be a tough team to beat for struggling Cardiff.
Bookies have given the former Heineken Cup Champions the edge over the blues. Bet 365 current give odds of 10/11 Cardiff Blues and 8/11 Toulouse.
Reigning Champions Munster take on the Ospreys, in what is thought to be a ‘turn up and win’ game for Munster. Odds are stacked firmly against the Ospreys with Bet 365 giving odds of 2/7 Munster and 11/4 Ospreys.
The big game of the weekend though will see Harlequins take on Leinster. Boasting 12 Irish internationals in the squad, Leinster are formidable team, however Harlequins, who are currently second place in the Guinness Premiership, are arguably playing some of the best rugby in the UK.
Leicester Tigers 1/2
Bath 13/8

Toulouse 8/11
Cardiff Blues 11/10
Munster 2/7
Ospreys 5/2
Harlequins 4/5
Leinster 11/10
My Tip: Munster to win by 15 points, Harlequins to win by 5 points while the other two quarter finals could go either way. Bad weather will mean the teams with the better forwards are likely to get through to the semi finals.
