Hamilton 'Not Worried' By Hearing

10th September, 2007

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton insists that he has 'no worries' about the result of next week's hearing over the "Spygate" scandal currently dominating Formula 1 headlines. McLaren have been accused of possession of Ferrari trade secrets. Should McLaren be found guilty, some have predicted it could take Hamilton's title chances out of his own hands.

Currently Hamilton leads the Formula 1 World Championship by only three points, after teammate Fernando Alonso won the Italian Grand Prix and cut his lead by another two points. Despite what looked like a comeback by Ferrari, the McLaren one-two at the weekend has all but ended the chances of a Ferrari champion this year. Kimi Raikkonen now finds himself 18 points behind leader Hamilton, and Felipe Massa another 5 behind his teammate. Massa admitted after being forced out of the Italian Grand Prix that his chances are slim: "It's possible but it is going to be very, very difficult".

Alonso is now the favorite to win the championship, at evens, with Hamilton available with 5/4 at Ladbrokes.
