Grimes brothers are set to win X-Factor 2009
26th October, 2009
Sky Bet have announced that they think the Grimes Brothers could actually stand a chance of winning this year’s X-Factor. It seems that the pair who is loathed by judge Simon Cowell, but adored by mentor Louis Walsh, are beginning to win over the public vote at last. Since the live shows the twins have done very well and have entertained the audience and judges with their pantomime like performances.
Sky Bet revealed that there has been a surge in betting for the twins to win this year’s show and for this reason have been forced to slash their odds. This weekend was a perfect example, highlighting that every contestant has a chance of winning and there is no way of predicting what will happen from week to week.
The online bookies was shocked to see how much attention the Irish Brothers were receiving and shortened their odds from 66/1 to 40/1. In addition to them winning the show, Sky Bet is also pricing them at 40/1 to have a Christmas number one and they are backed at 20/1 to represent Ireland in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
A spokesperson from Sky Bet explained, “Unbelievably, the Grimes brothers have been the best backed X Factor contenders this week. They are receiving millions of hits on YouTube and look likely to hang about in the competition for a few weeks yet.”
If you don’t fancy a bet on them staying in then why not place a stake on them getting thrown out, with odds of 9/1 that they will be voted out in the quarter finals or semi finals and 8/1 to be eliminated in the finals.
