Greece v Sweden Match Preview
The second of the two Group D matches on Tuesday sees defending champions Greece face Sweden in the Euro 2008 Group Stages. Despite most plaudits giving both teams no chance, there is definitely evidence to suggest that both teams, Greece in particular, could mount a decent challenge.
Greece shocked everyone with the win at the last European Championship, and come into the tournament after going 10th in the FIFA world rankings, winning their group by seven points with 10 wins out of 12, and four wins out of six in their friendlies, including a win over Portugal.
Greece v Sweden Odds and Betting
Sweden come into the tournament with poor form and an aging squad, with Ibrahimovic unlikely to be able to produce club form with the lower quality of service he is likely to receive. Despite the above, Sweden go into the game as favourites at 6/4, whilst Greece are at 2/1, along with the draw.
With few stand-out players, the Asian handicap market will be popular, with Greece -0.25 a seemingly great value bet at 8/5. Sweden are likely to struggle going forward, and the 8/15 for under 2.5 goals may still represent value. Also, a Greece clean sheet at nearly 2/1 is attractive.
