Fulham news and betting odds against Bolton
26th November, 2009
Last night saw Fulham win against Blackburn Rovers 3-0 after a very uncertain start. The game did not project professional football to say the least, with some very near misses. Nevertheless, Fulham shined through with Erik Nevland securing a goal in the first half, which was their only chance of the half, and gave Fulham the confidence to return to the game in the second half with high spirits and energy where Clint Dempsey scored another before he scored again three minutes from time, sending Fulham into the top half of the table.
Roy Hodgson paid his respects to Blackburn explaining that Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce will be thrilled with their performance last night and sent his thoughts to the manager who was not there because he was having heart surgery. He went on to explain, “His team didn’t do my blood pressure any favours. I wish him well and he must be proud how his team is playing. Apparently red wine is good for the heart and I look forward to having a glass with him up at Blackburn later in the season.”
When revealing his thoughts on his team’s game he went on to say, “The first 40 minutes was not the sort of game you like to watch because the ball was all up in the air. Credit to Blackburn because they kept us pinned down and stopped us doing what we wanted to do.”
Neil McDonald who is standing in for the Blackburn boss explained, “I thought the first half we played some really good stuff. We should have scored in the first minute but we didn’t take the chance and then we went on to show some poor defending for the three goals. The only chance that Fulham had in the first half they stuck it in the back of the net. We are all disappointed with the way that they scored the other couple of goals.” He concluded by saying “Were disappointed to of lost the game and we’ve conceded three very bad goals."
Bobby Zamora limped off shortly after half time which has caused concern for Roy Hodgson as they are set to play Bolton on 28th November and Danny Murphy is still off with injury and it is doubtful that he will be fit for Saturday’s game.
