France v England Preview and Betting
26th March, 2008
England travel to the Stade de France this evening for a friendly, which will be Capello’s second game in charge. The Italian believes this game will be the hardest of the three friendlies preceding the 2010 qualifying campaign.
After playing France this evening, England are set to face the USA in May and the Czech Republic in August. Capello commented: "It's going to be our hardest match. France are a good team and we're playing in Paris, where there will be a good atmosphere. It will be a good test, it's a good base to start from."
The new coach has confirmed that David Beckham will earn his 100th cap tonight, but has not said whether he will start on come on as a substitute. It has also been announced that Rio Ferdinand will captain the side, as Capello keeps his policy of rotating the armband ahead of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
The odds of an England win tonight have shortened as we head toward the game, with England now at 2/1 with Bet 365, and France still favourites, but out to 8/5 with VC Bet.
