Formula 1 Weekend Review
17th September, 2007
After the McLaren fiasco last week, they were dealt another blow as Ferrari produced a one-two in the Belgian Grand Prix. Kimi Raikkonen finished five seconds ahead of team-mate Felipe Massa, with Lewis Hamilton never challenging Fernando Alonso after the first lap for a place on the podium. Hamilton was not happy with an incident on the second corner that saw Alonso force him wide, which he thought was “unfair”. The result sees Alonso cut Hamilton’s lead to just two points, with Raikkonen now only 13 points behind the championship leader. Massa has all but written off his chances at 20 points behind.
Also in the points was Nick Heidfeld (5th), Nico Rosberg (6th), Mark Webber (7th) and Heikki Kovalainen (8th). Raikkonen is now 8/1 to win the championship with Betfred.
