Fallon Fails Second Drugs Test

18th December, 2007

Irish horse racing jockey Kieren Fallon has failed a drugs test after his B sample testing positive, his solicitor has confirmed.

The Irishman will now face a hearing in front of the French racing authorities and could face a lengthy ban next month. The 42-year-old tested positive for a banned substance after Myboycharlie’s win at the Prix Morny in France in August.

His lawyer Christopher Stewart-Moore told the Times: "I had a letter at the weekend that confirmed the positive findings. The letter tells me that the Medical Commission wish to meet in January to consider the case. I have instructed our French legal counterparts to request all the relevant data before we decide on our next step." It is believed the banned substance is cocaine.

The news that Fallon had tested positive emerged the day after the collapse of his race-fixing trial, where the six-time champion jockey was acquitted of conspiracy to defraud.
