FIA Formula One 2008 odds and preview
3rd March, 2008
The start of the 59th FIA Formula One World Championship season is only two weeks away.
The first race in the F1 calendar is the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, a 58 lap race round a 5.303km circuit in the blistering heat of the Australian summer. The lap record, set by Michael Schumacher in 2004, is only 1 minute and 24.125 seconds, a time that will prove almost impossible to beat.
Last year, Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen won the race and went on to win the season’s drivers championship with 110 points, closely followed by Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, both with 109 points.
