FA Cup Fifth Round Draw
28th January, 2008
Premier League leaders Manchester United will play second-placed Arsenal in the FA Cup fifth round in the biggest tie of the round.
Current FA Cup holders Chelsea will be visited by League One side Huddersfield Town, whilst Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson will take on former team Middleborough. Championship side Barnsley will face a tough task as they travel to Anfield to play Liverpool. League One strugglers Bristol Rovers have been drawn against Southampton.
Full Fifth round draw fixtures:
- Bristol Rovers v Southampton
- Cardiff City v Wolves
- Sheffield United v Middlesbrough
- Liverpool v Barnsley
- Manchester United v Arsenal
- Preston v Portsmouth
- Coventry City v West Brom
- Chelsea v Huddersfield Town
The ties are scheduled to take place on 16 and 17 February.
As a result of the draw, Chelsea have been installed as favorites at 9/4 to win the FA Cup, with Manchester United around 11/4, Liverpool at 3/1, and Arsenal now back 11/2. Unsurprisingly the FA Cup betting with the big four is short – with a price of 1/6 for one of the big four to win the cup, 7/2 for any other club.
