F1 Bahrain Grand Prix Online Betting Odds
8th March, 2010
It’s the season opening this weekend for Formula one with the Grand Prix taking place in Bahrain.
There are a host of new faces this season in addition to the return of some old ones with Sky Bet giving odds of 4/9 that the 2010 Drivers Championship will go to one of the four former winners and odds of 13/8 that a new champion is crowned.
Michael Schumacher, a seven time world champion, is returning to the sport this season after an absence of three years with Sky Bet making him a 2/9 chance to win a race, 5/1 to win the most races and 7/1 to have the most pole positions. Odds are given at 5/1 to be crowned world champion again.
Sky Bet’s Formula One expert Dave Pilgrim said: “It's all shaping up to be a terrific season and we really are having to employ plenty of guestimates this time around with pre-season testing offering hope to numerous drivers, but nothing concrete standing out above the field. I can't wait to see how Michael Schumacher fares on his return to the sport."
F1’s most recent champions, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton are to have their first grand prix as team mates with Mclaren priced at 9/4 second favourites behind Ferrari at 7/4 to gain the constructors title.
The race in Bahrain will be insightful into whether Button is set to mount a challenge against Hamilton, who is 1/3 favourite to collect more points this season with Button backed at 9/4.
Sky Bet is expecting Ferrari duo, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, to finish the season in the top three of the standings and make a Hamilton, Alonso, Massa top trio favourite at 28/1.
