Everton v Chelsea Betting and Odds Preview

17th April, 2008

After the disappointment of a last-minute draw earlier in the week against lowly Wigan, Chelsea now know that nothing but a win will do against Everton tonight if they are to push Manchester United for the title.

Chelsea currently sit five points behind the reigning champions, and a win here and against the current leaders would see them go top of the table, but not many expect that to last long as United will have a game in hand. Everton had been fighting for fourth spot for a place in the Champions League, but manager David Moyes has almost admitted defeat and now thinks saving fifth spot is the priority.

With the Champions League matches against Liverpool just around the corner, Chelsea are unlikely to field a full-strength side, whilst Everton have nothing else to play for so will be going all out. This makes the 14/5 with Bet 365 on Everton winning look good value, however the pressure on Grant means that a lot of punters will be backing Chelsea at evens with most bookmakers.
