England vs West Indies the 4th Test
24th February, 2009
England’s cricketers will be in action once again on Thursday. The dramatic end to the third test would have felt as bad as a loss for the tourists, who after an amazing start in the 1st innings and a great 2nd innings looked comfortable for a win.
However this wasn’t the case, with Flintoff injured and the unpredictable wicket conditions, allowed the West Indies tale end batsmen to pull off a miraculous recovery.
The last two test are a must win for England if they are to turn around the 1-0 lead the West Indies have.
The tourists go into the fourth test as favourites to win, and will hope to repeat their third test performance, although this time finishing with a win.
Ladbrokes, Coral and BetFred all make England slight favourites at 6/4, although they also feel the test is just as likely to end in a draw. After England’s powerful display the West Indies are made slight underdogs at 9/4 by Coral, SkyBet, and Ladbrokes.
A win by England in Barbados will lend to a nail biting final test in Trinidad on the 6th March. However a win to West Indies will spell the end of the series for England with the final test being a mere formality.
