England's comprehensive 115-run defeat of Australia in the 2nd Ashes Test at Lord's on Monday has seen them slashed across the board to regain the famous urn.
Andrew Flintoff, named man of the match following his superb five-wicket second innings haul, has already announced his pending retirement at the conclusion of the series and England captain Andrew Strauss will need his talisman to remain in such fine form with bat and ball if the hosts are to prevail.
Attention now switches to Edgbaston a week on Wednesday where England will be looking to cement their position as favourites. The home side are now even money chances with Sportingbet and Victor Chandler but must fear an Aussie backlash following some controversial decisions seemingly go against Ricky Ponting and his men at the home of cricket.
The visitors have been shunted out to 11/4 with Paddy Power for Ashes glory but are 6/4 favourites with the Irish firm to level the series in Birmingham by taking the 3rd Test.
It has been a dramatic start to the eagerly anticipated clash between two great cricketing nations and there are sure to be plenty more twists and turns before the outcome is decided.
