Duff completes deal with Fulham FC
19th August, 2009
Fulham have finalised the steal of ex Newcastle player Damien Duff and bookies are offering a variety of exciting Premier League betting odds for his start with the team.
The fee for the Republic of Ireland international has not been revealed, but it can be confirmed that Duff, 30, has been signed with the Cottagers for 3 years.
Duff has explained, ‘I am happy that my move to Fulham has been completed and look forward to joining in with the rest of the squad's training programme immediately in preparation for two important home matches this week’.
Duff is reunited with Roy Hodgson who he has played under before whilst at Blackburn and Hodgson displayed his excitement to work with the player again, explaining, ‘I have known Damien for over a decade and I am fully aware of his qualities which fit in with the club’s high ambitions following a fantastic season last year.’ The Fulham manager went on to say, ‘I am delighted to add a player of Damien Duff's calibre to our squad, and welcome the further midfield options he provides us with’.
Sky Bet is offering Duff odds of 7/1 for him to score on his debut and 3/1 for him to be booked. Fulham had a great season last year, finishing seventh allowing them to qualify for Europe. They are backed at 10/11 to gain another top half-finish this season and 25/1 to do the league double over rivals Chelsea.
