Drogba dreams of Milan

14th May, 2008

Chelsea’s star striker Didier Drogba has admitted how he has held talks with Italian giants AC Milan and dreams of a move there.

The Ivorian has been linked with numerous clubs since the departure of Jose Mourinho, and the quotes from his autobiography published in The Sun are set to start the rumours off again.

It would be unsurpsing to most if his final game for Chelsea was the UEFA Cup final against Manchester United next week. The 30-year-old admitted to flying out to Italy in the summer of 2006 to talk to AC Milan representatives.

The quotes from his autobiography state that Milan’s vice-president Adriano Galliani asked him, 'When would you like to play for Milan?' Drogba replied: "Whenever you want, it's all up to you - get the money ready and go see Chelsea."

Drogba also tells how he told then-boss Jose Mourinho that he had a dentist appointment, before flying out to Milan to discuss the possible move. When the Portuguese manager found out, he allegedly berated the forward over the phone.

Drogba, if fit, will be starting in his usual lone role up front for Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League final next week. Compare odds on the Champions League final.
