David Beckham to start in the World Cup 2010

7th January, 2010

David Beckham has reunited with AC Milan and after a fantastic start in front of the England manager Fabio Capello, bookies Sky Bet are certain that he will be in Capello’s South African line up.

It seems that with another five months with AC Milan, Beckham will have the opportunity to build up his fitness and strength in preparation for the World Cup 2010.

A spokesman from Sky Bet explained, “It’s common knowledge that Capello prefers to select players who are playing week in week out and with the World Cup now under six months away, Beckham knows he must show he is still at the top of his game.”

Sky Bet are offering some of the latest odds on the former England captain including 1/8 that Becks will make the World Cup squad and 4/1 that he starts in England’s first match against the USA. Other odds include 5/1 that the midfielder manages to score from a free-kick in the World Cup.

Odds from other bookies include 33/1 with Coral that David Beckham scores the winning goal in the World Cup final.
