Croatia v Germany Match Preview
This Group B crunch match will go a long way to deciding who will be going through to the knockout stages of Euro 2008. Both teams recorded wins in their first group matches, and three points in this game will take a lot of pressure off of the next game.
Croatia stumbled to a 1-0 win over hosts Austria, with a fourth-minute Luka Modric penalty enough to secure the points. They were less than convincing and will be apprehensive going into the game against a strong-looking Germany side who are favourites to go all the way. In their first game, two goals from Lukas Podolski sealed a deserved victory against Poland. Germany will go into the game looking for a victory, whilst Croatia would settle for a point.
Croatia vs Germany Odds and Betting
Germany go into the match as quite strong favourites at best odds of 5/6 (with Paddy Power), whilst a Croatia win can be picked up for 9/2 at some bookmakers. The draw is best odds of 12/5 (with Bet365 - £200 in free bets), which seems one of the better options with Croatia likely to be happy to hold on for a win.
Also backing Germany -1 in the Asian Handicap market at 79/50 with Paddy Power is tempting, with the side more than capable of beating the Croatia side by two goals, especially on recent form. Backing Klose for first/last goalscorer at 6/1 also seems to represent some value. The 3/2 available on the exchanges for over 2.5 goals seems too high and may also be worth a stake.
