Chelsea vs. Man City Online Betting Odds
4th December, 2009
Manchester City will entertain Premier League leaders, Chelsea, at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday evening in what could be an epic clash.
At the moment, Chelsea look in cruise control at the top of the league and this match will help see if Mark Hughes’s City team can finish in the top four and clinch a Champions League place. City’s current form in the league is not great, as they have drawn their last seven consecutive league matches however they have only been defeated once in this campaign. City will be full of confidence after beating Arsenal 3-0 in the Carling Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Chelsea are coming of a comfortable 3-0 Premiership victory over Arsenal at the Emirates last Sunday which put them five points clear over Manchester United. Carlo Ancelotti’s Blues however did lose in the Carling Cup quarter-final clash with Blackburn after a 3-3 draw. The Londoners did make many changes to their regular starting eleven.
Mark Hughes is likely to recall Brazilian international Robinho after being injured while Martin Petrov is unlikely to play after being out for the last few weeks with a knee injury. Shaun Wright-Phillips will have a fitness test after suffering a slight knock.
For Chelsea, Salomon Kalou has a thigh problem and is likely to be out for a couple of weeks. Chelsea’s big guns of Petr Cech, John Terry, midfielders Frank Lampard, Michael Essien, and star strikers Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka are all certain to start the match.
Manchester City is 7/2 to win with Coral while Chelsea is 10/11 with Bet 365. The draw is 5/2 with Betclic.
