Chelsea vs. Manchester United Online Betting Odds
6th November, 2009
Two titans of world football clash on Sunday afternoon, as Chelsea host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
The top two will do battle and Manchester United will be looking leap frog their rivals and be top of the table again. However if the Blues win they open up a five point gap over the reigning champions.
Recent form will indicate that Chelsea should be favourites as they have only been defeated twice in the league so far and both were away from home. Additionally, Manchester United has not had a good record at Stamford Bridge as they have failed to win in the past seven seasons. Throughout his illustrious career Sir Alex Ferguson has only managed to beat a team managed by Carlo Ancelotti once.
Manchester United face a defence crisis as England defender Rio Ferdinand is ruled out and Nemanja Vidic is struggling to be fit with a calf strain. Gary Neville is suspended after being sent off against Barnsley in the Carling Cup. In midfield Darren Fletcher is expected to start after returning in midweek against CSKA Moscow, while Ryan Giggs has recovered from a knee injury. Hungarian international striker will also return to partner Wayne Rooney in attack.
For Chelsea, Nicolas Anelka will return to the starting eleven after sitting on the bench in the Champions League match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. In defence Ricardo Carvalho and Branislav Ivanovic are expected to replace Alex and Juliano Belletti. Deco is likely to start over Joe Cole as he is still gaining match fitness after a long injury lay off.
To win the match Chelsea are 11/10 with Ladbrokes while Manchester United is 3/1 with Bet 365. The draw is 7/3 with Betclick.
