Chelsea through to Carling Cup Final

A professional display from an under-strength Chelsea side saw them secure a 1-0 (3-1 on aggregate) victory over Everton to book their spot in the Carling Cup final on Sunday February 24th.

Joe Cole scored the only of the game in an intriguing and tense affair, in which the Everton fans were completely silences and the travelling Chelsea fans dominated the atmosphere. At stages Everton were very much on top, but a solid Chelsea defence backed up by a strong Petr Cech meant that the home side couldn’t find the way through they needed.

Joe Cole’s goal came on 69 minutes, as a superb long ball found Cole between two defenders with much to do, but he delightful first touch game him the opportunity to smash it past Tim Howard at his near post.

Chelsea are understandably favourites at around 4/7, whilst Spurs are available for some value at around 5/4 according to our odds comparison service.
