British Grand Prix Betting

26th June, 2008

On Sunday 6 July the 2008 British Grand Prix will be held at Silverstone. The 9th race of the season promises to be a exciting event with the drivers championship still far from decided. Brazilian Felipe Massa leads the championship on 48 points in his Ferrari with BMW driver Robert Kubica in a close second on 46 points.

At last weeks French grand Prix in Magney Cours the Ferrari team dominated with Massa finishing 1st closely followed by teammate Kimi Räikkönen in 2nd. Lewis Hamilton was always going to find it a difficult race after being put back 10 places on the starting grid due to a incident which took place in the Canadian grand Prix two weeks before. As a result the 23 year old started on the grid in 13th place after qualifying in 3rd. Hamilton was pegged back a further 3 places mid way through the race, after being judged to have illegally passed Jarno Trulli, however still ended up in 10th place.

Bet 365 price Hamilton at 5/2. He desperately needs to finish on the Silverstone podium if he wishes to keep up with Massa and is determined to make up for this seasons mistakes. The Ferrari's in the past have suited the Silverstone track and Kimi Räikkönen is favorite generally priced at 11/10. Teammate Massa is priced at 11/4 with Paddy Power and at a similar price with most major bookies. Robert Kubica is a well priced between 10 and 12/1 amongst bookies and is currently placed 2nd in the Championship, only two points away from Massa.
