Bookies Favourite for Sports Personality
2nd December, 2008
Its only 12 days until the 2008 'Sports Personality of the Year' award, with so many people to choose from the britsih public will not have an easy decision this year.
There is a long line of contenders, however with this years GB olympics successes it is no wonder that the top ten favourites are many of our olympic heros. Although bookies favourites aren't an olympic gold medalist. No this new it looks like the youngest Formula 1 champion is in the driving seat. Lewis Hamilton is the strong favourite at most bookmakers.
Bet Fair has him at 0.68/1 favouritie to take the BBC Award on the 14th.
But it seems this favouritism has not been recieved well by all, as rival for the award Rebecca Adlington was quoted acqusing Lewis of having a short every year.
"I think that Chris Hoy, with his three cycling golds, or myself, have better claims than Lewis. Olympics only come round every four years and it takes constant effort throughout that time to win. Lewis gets a shot at the world championship every year." Rebecca fumed.
The top five spots at Bet Fair are:
Lewis Hamilton at 0.68/1
Rebecca Adlington at 3.3/1
Chris Hoy at 5.6/1
Joe Calzaghe at 69/1
Andy Murray at 179/1
I'm sure the odds will probably change over the next two weeks as the public votes flood the BBc this week and next. To keep upto date as they do check out ourOdds Comparison page
Our prediction is bookies current favourite Lewis Hamilton
