Birmingham v Arsenal Betting preview

22nd February, 2008

This Saturday sees Arsenal away to Brimingham at 12.45. The last time these two sides met, in mid January, Arsenal were held at a 1-1 draw. This time they will be hoping for more, to take them further clear at the top of the Premiership table.

Following last weekend's 4-0 loss to Man Utd, the Gunners have played Milan in the Champions League and were disappointed not to win. They drew 0-0, a good result but they were hoping to get the win, with Adebayor hitting the crossbar in the dying minutes. He said "I don't know how I didn't score". Now they have to get at worst a 1-1 draw at the San Siro to go through.

Birmingham's recent form has not been of a high standard and they find themselves in need of points to avoid the relegation zone.

Given their league form, where they have 63 points (5 points above second place Man Utd) and a goal difference of +36, it is hardly surprising that they are the favourites, today at the bookies, for the win at 8/15 (Better). Birmingham have been priced at 6/1 (VC Bet) to upset the league leaders and pull of the win.

BGBet, this time round are to refund all losing first goalscorer bets if Arsenal's Eduardo scores at any time. Eduardo could well be high on the list of likely goalscorers with Robin Van Persie still out and Adebayor just returning from a minor injury.
