Betting odds on the Spice Girl Musical

30th October, 2009

The Spice Girls where a phenomenon a decade ago and have entertained us since the day they started. The group may not still be known as the Spice Girls, but the clever branding of the group with its strong characters and group image has been imbedded in our minds the 5 girls continue to impress us even to this day. The relationship between the band mates is something that fans adored, honoured and encouraged as we watched the Spice Girls take over the world with ‘Girl Power’.

There have been suggestions recently that the Spice Girls will hit back and once again return to the stage, but this time it will be actresses re living their lives as pop stars. After a couple of the girls have hinted to media that the public may get a surprise, it is believed that they may be hitting London’s West End with their very own Spice Girls musical.

All of this was uncovered after an interview with Geri Halliwell where she suggested that there was a storyline in the making, whether it will be a musical, TV programme or another film it looks like we may have to wait and see! It seems that the idea is to display the transformation from rags-to-bitches and to help let adoring fans re live the phenomenal band that took over the music world, which seems to be a show that the public would go mad for!!

It is no wonder that the girls are looking to have another reunion after the success of their old one. In 2007/2008 the Spice Girls allowed fans to see them for one last time doing 17 exclusive shows in London, but within in minutes was sold out in record time.

Paddy Power has released odds on the Spice Girls possible comebacks that they would do. They are offering 1/3 that the musical would win a Laurence Oliver Award, with a price of 10/1 that the show will beat the opening weekend sales for Cats when it came to the West End and slightly longer odds of 33/1 that the Spice Girls musical would run longer than Cats has. However, Paddy Power’s odds look hopeful that if the musical does hit the stage, then the show will be around for quite a while. Odds available include 8/1 that the show will last a year, 9/2 that it will be around for 3 years and 11/10 that it will last more than 5 years.
