Betting odds on how long Burley will remain Scotland’s boss

15th September, 2009

After Scotland’s manager George Burley failed to whisk his team away to the World Cup, bookies are offering odds on how long they think he will stay at the club for. The SFA made the decision to keep Burley as the clubs manager but Sky Bet is giving him odds as long as 100/30 to continue managing the club after Euro 2012.

The Former Ipswich manager is tied into a contract with the club until next summer and then it will be in the SFA’s hands to decide whether or not to extend his position and to decide whether or not he will go on to lead the team into Euro 2012. Skybet seem to believe that the manager will not last that long and that he will be out of the picture way before then with odds of 1/5 that he would have left by Euro 2008.

A spokesperson from Skybet explained that, "With George Burley’s job safe for the time being, under pressure Wales boss John Toshack is our short-priced favourite to leave his post first.”

Burley is second favourite to be the next international manager to leave his club at 100/30 with Toshack being favourite at 8/3.

If you fancy chancing your bets it looks like the value for this market is hidden within the outsiders.
