Betting odds on McLeish at Birmingham
11th January, 2010
It has been revealed that Spanish player Michel will be signing his £3million deal with Birmingham today and it is hoped that he will play tomorrow night against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, subject to the fitness test results.
The 23-year old watched Manchester United take on Birmingham on Saturday which saw a result of 1-1, one of only two big games that went ahead this weekend, and boss Alex McLeish is hopeful that seeing them in action will ensure that he becomes familiar of what is expected of him.
McLeish went on to say, “He will have watched that game with United and will see the other qualities you need in the Premier League – the physical side of it, getting close to people, making tackles.”
It appears that there are concerns that the Spanish midfielder will be unsure of what sort of game is expected of him as in Spain they play a very different game. McLeish explained, “He will be amazed as Mikel Arteta was when I signed him at Rangers. He was stunned when players made a tackle and took the man, ball, everything. In Spain that doesn’t happen.”
Online bookies Sky Bet are offering odds on a number of specials including, a price of 8/1 to score in his debut match that is set to be on Tuesday 11th January 2010 and a price of 20/1 that the midfielder who has been sent-off once this season will be shown the red card on his debut.
A spokesman from Sky Bet explained, “It looks as if Alex McLeish has finally got his man after he failed to bring Michel to St Andrews at the beginning of the season.” For more odds on this market or for any others please visit Sky Bet for all the latest odds.
