Betting odds on Manchester City
23rd December, 2009
After it was announced that Roberto Mancini will be managing Manchester City, there have been several odds released by bookies about the future of the club. It has been revealed that the new manager would like to make the team finish in the top four this season, with hopes to make them top of the Premier League in 2010/11.
Manchester City are priced at 6/4 to finish in the top four this year with odds of 40/1 that the Italian will be able to send the team to the top of the Premier League and 8/1 that they lift the trophy in 2010/11.
A spokesman from Sky Bet explained, “Mancini knows exactly what is required to win major honours after guiding Inter Milan to three Serie A titles. He will be given huge financial backing by the club's owners so you would expect City to mount a serious challenge for the Barclays Premier title in the 2010/11 season.”
In addition, other odds that Sky Bet are offering include the top scorer betting market which looks at the top 5 strikers with Adebayor priced at 2/1 favourite followed by second favourite Tevez backed at 9/4 then Bellamy at 10/3, Santa Cruz at 6/1 and Robinho at 10/1.
Dale Tempest from Sky Bet explained, “At the moment we’ve no idea who Mancini will prefer in his star studded forward line so it makes the City Top Premier League scorer market a tough one to solve.”
More odds available with Sky Bet include Mancini’s first game against Stoke on Boxing Day and Man City are priced at 4/9 that they steal a win. To find out more odds on this market, or any others, then please visit Sky Bet and get your hands on a FREE £10 bet.
