Betting odds on Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton as they both drive for McLaren in 2010
25th November, 2009
It has been revealed that Jenson Button has signed for McLaren alongside Lewis Hamilton in preparation for next year’s Grand Prix.
This new contract is sure to make the bookies happy as the all English dream team will hopefully increase turnover for bookies as punters predict that McLaren will go all the way next season.
A spokesman from Sky Bet explained, “McLaren pairing Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton looks sure to spark the strongest interest from the British public in F1 for many years, but we think Jenson might find it hard competing against Hamilton.”
Although it seems that the two British World Champions are getting on perfectly at the moment and they are not letting any cracks show to the public, this is sure to change as the competition heats up! Punters will have to chose which driver they think will be able to handle the pressure and take a careful look at the way they both drive.
Button has made no secret of why he moved over to McLaren, firstly emphasising on the authority of the car explaining that he wanted to work with a more powerful car. In addition, he explained that he was really looking forward to racing with Lewis Hamilton as he believes that the challenge will greatly benefit his future career.
Bookies are already offering odds on next season with Bet 365 offering the same on odds of 5/4 that either driver will steal the Drivers Championship title. Bet365 are offering a price of 7/4 that Button gains more points than Hamilton and a price of 7/2 that McLaren win the first race of the season with a 1-2 finish.
Another bookie that is offering some great odds is Sky Bet who has Hamilton’s success priced at slightly shorter odds, offering 8/13 that Hamilton collects more points that Button and 2/5 that Hamilton gets more pole positions that Button who is backed at 7/4.
