Betting odds on Floyd Mayweather Jr VS. Juan Manuel Marquez
3rd September, 2009
Floyd Mayweather Jr has admiited that the prospect of enhancing his hall of fame career excites him as the final preparations for his eagerly awaited clash with Juan Manuel Marquez are in full swing.
The pretty boy who is 39-0 faces the resilient Mexican on September 19th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The 32- year- old former five weight world champion has admitted that defending his perfect record is a major motivation for him. Mayweather argues that Marquez has nothing to lose as it is he who is expected to win.
However the confident Mayweather will not dismiss Marquez’s challenge especially after his classic fights with Manny Pacquiao and the 50 victories he has obtained in his career.
Mayweather will be making his first appearance in nearly two years after knocking out Ricky Hatton in December 2007. The man from Las Vegas feels that his self-enforced two year break will not be a factor and there is no ring rust.
Money Mayweather told Sky Sports “I don't think a two-year layoff is going to affect me," he commented. "I feel fast and strong and my timing is there. We are in the gym every day and we are looking very sharp.
"I feel the same way as I felt before I left. Actually I feel a little better. I think the break helped because I haven't had a break since '87 so my body had a chance to heal. I feel really good."
Floyd Mayweather is 1/4 with Bet Fred, while Ladbrokes is offering 10/3. The draw is 37/1 with WBX.
