Betting odds on David Haye’s next match
9th November, 2009
David Haye, 29, stole the win on Saturday night against Nikolai Valuev and has now claimed that he will go on to wipe out future competition. Haye explained, “Valuev felt like the best chin in the world in any weight division and I know there are a few other big guys around who won’t be able to take that sort of punishment. I’m looking forward to cleaning up the division. I want anyone who has got a belt, that’s why I moved up to heavyweight.”
Haye is renowned for his intimidation before a fight and has certainly perfected his presence to increase press attention before a match and after this Saturday’s game it looks like it worked, so he has warned supporters to be prepared to see more extreme stunts and threats next time around!
After the win, there is a lot of speculation within the industry of how far Haye will be able to go, with talk of him becoming a Global star before long. His next match looks set to be against John Ruiz who is former American world champion. The fight is set to take place at the start of next year and Sky Bet is already offering odds on the winner.
A spokesperson from Sky Bet explained, “Ruiz is a tough veteran in the ring and a lot of his fights go to points against the top fighters but I expect Haye to really want to impress in this fight and take Ruiz down in style to send more ripples of excitement through the heavyweight division.”
Haye is priced at 2/5 to keep his title against with Ruiz backed at 15/8 to defeat Haye. For more boxing odds then visit Sky Bet to get all the latest news and prices.
