Betting odds for the comeback of Justine Henin

23rd September, 2009

Justine Henin has announced that after 16 months of quitting the game, she will be returning to play professional tennis next year and is back in training to shape herself up for what she hopes will be a very successful year.

The 27 year old will make her comeback appearance at the Australian Open and is backed by Ladbrokes to win the title at 8/1, 3/1 to win the French Open, 6/4 to win any Grand Slam and 6/4 to win any Grand Slam.

A spokesman from Ladbrokes explained that, “If Henin can find the form which took her to seven Grand Slam wins she’ll be dangerous, particulay at the French Open.”

Sky Bet are offering 9/2 that she will win her third US Open and have cut the odds from 6/1 to 5/1 that she will be up against Kim Clijsters in the 2010 Grand Slam.

Chris Kennedy from Sky Bet said, “Henin looks to have been inspired by Clijsters' remarkable US Open victory just a couple of weeks ago and it will be fascinating to see if she can compete with the very best straight away in 2010.”

The Belgian tennis star is just 3/1 to steal the World Number One title again once she returns to the game.
