Betting odds for Sol Campbell to reunite with Arsenal
11th January, 2010
Arsenal have been put under pressure since manager Arsene Wenger has highlighted the importance of performing to their potential this season, otherwise their chance of lifting the trophy will be in danger.
Wenger has insisted that he must see more consistency from his players after Arsenal missed their chance of moving up the table when they played Everton and only managed to score 2-2. Wenger explained, “You could see from this match every game is difficult and as soon as you drop your level a bit, you are in danger. This is what happened to us.”
There have been rumours that Sol Campbell is interested in returning to his former club and Arsene Wenger has revealed that he would consider signing for 35-year-old if Arsenal are able to sell Philippe Senderos. This could be the change that Wenger needs in order to improve the performance of his team.
Betting expert from Sky Bet explained, “Campbell has been training with Arsenal while out of contract and has impressed the Arsenal manager with his level of fitness and attitude. The signing of Campbell would give Wenger the cover he needs for centre-back pairing of William Gallas and Thomas Vermaelen.”
Sky Bet are offering 1/3 that the former Arsenal player will make a return, there are also suggestions that he may be heading to Manchester United priced at 6/1, whilst a price of 8/1 is available for Campbell to move to Newcastle United.
