Australian Open 2009: Women's odds: latest

The odds haven't changed that drastically for the female players, Serena Williams is still the hot favourite to win, followed by Dementieva and Safina:
Williams, S: 5/2 (skybet)
Dementieva, E: 11/4 (skybet)
Safina, D: 4/1 (paddypower)
Zvonareva, V: 6/1 (totesport)
Kuznetsova, S: 22/1 (boylesport)
Suarez Navarro, C: 22/1 (boylesport)
Dokic, J: 25/1 (totesport)
Our thoughts:
- The russians are certainly out in force at this year's Australian Open and doing well.
This is the women's draw for the next round:
- Safina Rus (3) v Dokic Aus
- Suarez-Navarro Spa v Dementieva Rus (4)
Kuznetsova Rus (8) v S Williams US (2)
Bearing in mind the draw, as much as it would be an amazing story if Dokic won, you have to favour Safina- not only is she seeded but she is also one of the most determined players out there- she will fight to the bitter end.
Dementieva should make it through to the next round against her unseeded opponent.
Williams and Kuznetsova could have a very good match indeed. I would still be tempted to put my money on Serena Williams winning.
