Australia vs West Indies- Twenty20 Betting Odds
22nd February, 2010
Australia is just one game away from going through their whole summer undefeated, but will the west indies upset the party?
"Whilst the SCG is usually a good pitch to bat on, with something in it for the spinners, this is an end of season track so may be a little slow," said Andrew Hughes.
Australia’s victory on Sunday was their first Twenty20 win over the West Indies in three attempts, which extended their unbeaten sequence so far this summer. However, it should be remembered that Twenty20 cricket is Australia’s weakest format which could give the West Indies the best chance of spoiling their unbeaten run.
Chris Gayle’s men got of to a nightmarish start after losing four wickets in four overs. The West Indies undoubtedly have ammunition, in the likes of Gayle, Lendl Simmons and Keiron Pollard, and providing their quicker bowlers can keep a tighter line, they must rate an excellent chance of securing a series draw in Sydney.
The top batsman pick for Australia has to be between Shane Watson and David Warner, both of which are worth backing. Michael Clarke plays the anchor role and neither David Hussey nor Cameron White looked in particularly good form on Sunday.
For the West Indies, Gayle is on a run of poor form at the moment, so it may pay to look elsewhere in the top batsman market. The West Indies have a number of destructive batsmen in their team including Keiron Pollard, who usually bats at four and on his day is one of the best batsmen in Twenty20 cricket.
You can back Australia to win at 4/11 or the West Indies at 11/5 both with Bet 365.
