Arsenal vs. Fulham Online Betting Odds
25th September, 2009
On Saturday Arsenal will clash with London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage in the early evening kick -off.
Fulham will be aiming to extend their recent good form against the Gunners, as they defeated them in this fixture last year and then managed to capture a draw at the Emirates back in February. Arsene Wenger’s team failed to get on the score sheet in both of the matches but believes his side will be more clinical this time around, especially with Fulham’s recent poor form.
Arsenal is expected to have Andrey Arshavin return and hopes that Robin Van Persie passes a fitness test. England midfielder Theo Walcott is still short of match fitness after being out with a back problem, but could feature at some point during the match. Additionally, the Reds will be without goalkeeper Manuel Almunia who is sidelined with a chest infection.
For Fulham, Australian international Mark Schwarzer could return in goal, while crucial players Andy Johnson and Brede Hangeland are expected to play after missing the Cottagers 2-1 Carling Cup defeat to Manchester City last week. Also striker Bobby Zamora is expected to be in the starting line-up.
Fulham’s new signing Jonathan Greening, is relishing the clash and told Fulham’s official website. “It’s a London derby, so that gives added spice, but it’s a big game anyway, and live on telly as well. It will be a great atmosphere and after our disappointing performance against Wolves, it’s an opportunity for us to put things right against a top quality side”.
Fulham are 13/2 with William Hill while Arsenal is 8/13 with Betfred. The draw is 3/1 with Betfair.
