Arsenal vs Barcelona Champion's League Online Betting Odds

30th March, 2010

The Champion’s League quarter final looks to be mouthwatering as Arsenal host Barcelona at the Emirates stadium tomorrow night. The teams are two of the best in the world but can the Catalan giants match the pace of Arsenal’s game?

Barcelona are 15/8 favourites with Paddy Power to be the first team to retain the Champions League in its current format and are priced at 4/11 to make it through to the semi finals with odds of 13/10 that they’ll win Wednesday’s game.

Arsenal has clearly reserved some of their best football for this competition racking up 16 goals in their past 5 home matches, surrendering only 2. However, Barcelona seems to have one eye on the Primera Liga which is getting very close with Real Madrid currently topping the tables, meaning that they may have to rest some players. With this in mind, Arsenal is priced at 21/10 with Paddy Power for the win.

The teams met before in Paris in 2006 when Jens Lehman was sent off early in the game, as a result Paddy Power are offering odds of 25/1 that the Gunner’s Goalie will be sent off on Wednesday.

Paddy power is offering an impressive ‘money back special’. If Barcelona win from behind like in the 2006 final they will refund all 1st/last goal scorer, correct score and score cast singles on the game.

Due to the array of attacking talent the goal scorer market is sure to be a very popular one. Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner is a favourite to hit the net first with odds of 7/1 with Cesc Fabregas at odds of 12/5 to score at anytime in the match. Thierry Henry from the away side is at odds of 7/1 to score. The question is will Arsenal be able to tame Lionel Messi? Paddy Power is offering odds of 16/5 for him to open the scoring.

This match is to be televised on ITV1 at 19:45 on Wednesday 31st March 2010.
