The world’s top eight tennis players are preparing to do battle when the ATP World Tour Finals begin on Monday at the O2 Arena in London.
Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Britain’s Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Juan Martin del Potro, Andy Roddick, Nikolay Davydenko and Fernando Verdasco will contest the US$4,450,000 season finale.
The ATP World Tour finals differ from every other event throughout the year as it is not a straight forward knock-out event. Two groups of four are created and the players have three round-robin matches each. The top two from each group advance to the semi-finals, with the winners competing in the final championship match. World number two Rafael Nadal knows that if he is undefeated in London it will make him leap-frog his great rival Roger Federer to the year- end world number one spot. Ahead of the event Nadal has been speaking about his clashes on the court with the Swiss Superstar.
The Spaniard told Sky Sports "He always did a very good job for our sport and he is a nice person," "I have spent the most important moments of my career playing against Roger - and the same is for him, too, playing against me. So we have a big respect and, off the court, we have a very good relationship."
If Nadal does meet Federer in a head to head clash he will be full of confidence as he has only lost 7 out of their previous 20 meetings and won five out of seven in the more prestigious Grand Slam events.
To win the ATP Tour Finals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are both 11/4 while Rafael Nadal is 13/2 with Bet 24. Andy Murray is 4/1 with Canbet.
