2009 Boat Race Betting Odds

24th March, 2009

The Thames Boat Race is one of the longest standing traditions in this country, containing a rivalry that is just as long.

Once again Oxford and Cambridge students will line up against each other on Sunday in the 155th annual Boat Race.

The tradition started back in 1829 when two School friends challenged each other to a boat race. One attended Cambridge University while the other attended Oxford.

Cambridge are current leaders in the competition with 79 wins to 74, yet Oxford are current holders, and are favourites to retain the title.

Oxford also have five Olympians in their crew and so are strong favourites to beat rivals Cambridge.

Bet 365 give odds of:

Oxford 2/7

Cambridge 5/2

Dead Heat 100/1

Paddy Power are giving odds of:

Oxford 1/3

Cambridge 9/4

Dead Heat 150/1
