Beckham makes debut

Former England Captain David Beckham has made his long overdue debut for new side LA Galaxy last night. The midfield star, who after the game expressed his relief at finally making his first appearance in the MLS, came on in the 72nd minute but could not prevent his new side from going down 1 - 0 to DC United.

Beckham's debut for the Los Angeles based team has be constantly postponed since his arrival in July due to an ankle injury that he aggravated while on duty for his country. Beckham didn’t waste any time before getting stuck into some meaty tackles and after the game admitted that his ankle was feeling fine. Beckham now hopes to be fit enough for England’s upcoming friendly match against Germany.
