Baines Completes Move to Everton

Wigan and England Under 21 star Leighton Baines has today completed his £5 million pound move to Everton.

Wigan decided to accept the bid after Everton met their valuation of the player and Baines expressed his desire to speak to the Merseyside club.

Baines who spent 6 years at Wigan wished to thank the staff and friends that he has left behind at the club for everything they have done for him in that time. He also wished to thank the fans for always getting behind him and cheering him on.

The £5 million move for Baines is only Everton’s third acquisition of the summer, following Phil Jagielka from Sheffield United and teenage striker Lucas Jutkiewicz from Swindon Town and they will surely need to add a couple more new faces if they are to progress from last season.
